St Agur is a rich buttery blue cheese made with cows' milk and double cream. Definitely on the mild side of the blues, but with a nice touch of spice and salt.
St Agur has a distinctive octagonal shape but you could probably tell it with your eyes closed; it's so wonderfully creamy and just melts away in your mouth. A gold medal winner at the 2010 cheese awards, this is a blue that's everyone's always pleased to see on a cheeseboard. Though it won't stay there for long.
What with? St Agur is good with a soft red wine or a glass of port. A real treat with fresh figs, pear and prosciutto.
